I work on drawings at home and at the office and they're allowing only one CPU period. I'd probably go with DraftSight except their licensing sucks for me. (Free for hobbyists or companies doing less than x$ business.) It's also twice the price of DraftSight.Īs for DraftSight ransoming our drawings, is that really true? Can't we store them on our hardware and access them with any DFX or DWG tool? This is not like Fusion360 where you really are ransomed except they have a really generous licencing agreement. I hope nanoCAD doesn't pull the same trick on us. Kcress - RE: Draftsight 2019 - no longer Free SBaugh (Mechanical) I'm glad to hear there are some alternatives. It would appear and in the time it took to read the file name it would vaporize it and my antiV would pop up a window to inform me of a 'save'. Hilariously my anti virus program found and nixed the keycracker every time it opened. I thought about using a cracked version to keep the files on MY computer instead of their cloud. So today the same thing 'you must activate (again!)' but with that nasty in- red you shall bend over after December. Really aggravating, especially since the activation process was broken about half the time. I've always cursed the Dassault idiots because on two computers at least one would be whining about needing to be "activated" every rare time I opened it. I use DraftSight about 10 times a year to cobble up a cnc router part or a field wiring diagram. You can start using DraftSight 2016.Just smashed my face into this too. Once the migration is complete, click OK.Use this to migrate settings from DraftSight 2015 to DraftSight 2016. The DraftSight “Migration Assistance” window will appear.Click Finish to complete the installation.Accept the End User License Agreement and click Install. Confirm the details match the license server details.Progress through the installation window, and choose the option “SolidNetWork License (SNL)”:.Once downloaded, double-click to start the installation process – click Run.On one client, download the appropriate DraftSight 2016 software from the website:.When the SolidNetWork License Manager window appears, just click OK to close and proceed with installing the client machines.Click finish and proceed to install client software. The following screen confirms successful activation. The following dialog appears while the installation communicates with the SOLIDWORKS Activation Server. On the following screen, enter your email address and choose the option to “ Activate over the internet”.Add the following programs to the firewall exception list ( lmgrd.exe and sw_d.exe that are stored in the SNL installation folder).Check “A firewall is in use on this server” and leave the ports number by default in the SolidNetWork License Manager options.Add TCP/IP ports 2575 to the firewall exception list. There are three things to configure to avoid firewall issues when using the SolidNetWork License Manager:. Make a note of the server name and port number used here, you will need this information when installing/upgrading software on the client machines. Normally, the default (25734) is suitable and is unlikely to be the same as any other FLEXnet server process currently on the license manager computer. The port number is a TCP/IP port number in the 1024-60000 range, used exclusively by this process.
