![]() But the description of IT Cosmetics Oil-Free Matte gave me hope. This is the reason I embrace my minimalist side during the summer, a.k.a., why I hoard super-light tinted moisturizer formulas like my life depends on it. If you’re an East Coast city gal, you know the struggle of just existing in 95-degree temps when your makeup melts down your face and you question whether or not you should have just skipped makeup altogether. I didn’t get the satin look the OG CC+ Cream does, but my skin looked healthy and real, which is always the goal for me. ![]() You could still see some of my freckles peeping through the matte formula, and it gave me a medium-coverage, matte finish that could easily be built up for full-coverage if I wanted. ![]() The finish left me feeling like I found my holy grail. On the morning of my CC Cream “road test,” I dispensed two pumps of the formula onto the back of my hand, dotting the product onto my face and applied - using a little extra in areas that had redness or unevenness (aka, my cheeks). At first, I was a little nervous to slather it on, thinking it might look mask-y or be too thick, but I found that there was nothing to fear. My first observation with the new, oil-free matte formula is that it feels and looks a little bit thicker than the formula I’m used to. ![]() Behold, the new IT Cosmetics Oil Free Matte CC+ Cream with SPF 40, a new formula that I put to the ultimate test over a 12-hour period to see how it would hold up throughout the day (see: IT Cosmetics IG Story for evidence). The OG formula beloved by all makeup wearers - from newbies to experts to teens to grandmas - will forever remain a living legend, however, it now has a matte counterpart oily skin and breakout-prone babes can get behind. It’s the do-it-all formula that one desert-island beauty product if you will. If you are looking for a new splurge mascara I recommend giving this one a try.A single search for “IT Cosmetics CC Cream” on Google will yield you over 43 million hits in under one second - and for good reason. The price and application on that one is just too good. However, I don’t think this will be replacing my go-to drugstore mascara, Lash Paradise by Loreal. My favorite splurge mascara was They’re Real by Benefit but this has definitely replaced it. I also had no issue with it being easily removed with my normal eye makeup remover which is nice because I try to avoid rubbing my eyes too much. I haven’t had any issues with smudging or flaking throughout the day. I find that the Drybar It Cosmetics mascara wears extremely well throughout the day. “Inspired by the technology used to create barrel brushes for hair, this specially designed mascara wand features microspheres to gently catch and grip all of your lashes for beautiful lift and separation” This was interesting to me because I read that this is only mascara that features this technology. This is actually how I recommend applying all mascaras because I feel like coating both sides of the lashes really adds a pop. They do recommend when applying to “sweep the brush up and through your lashes, slightly rotating your wand forward and away from your face as you reach the tips”. Like I mentioned the formula and wand style is very buildable to achieve a truly “blown out” lash look. Here’s a close-up photo of my lashes with the mascara, so you can get an idea of what it looks like on. I also feel like it’s extremely buildable which is something that is very important to me. I do find that it isn’t too wet or dry but just perfect for the formula. The quality of the formula, wand and overall product is very strong. This mascara is $25 a tube which is a splurge for me personally but compared to other high-end mascara this price is very comparable to other brands. After I finish this mascara I think I will still keep this on my vanity since it’s so fun. It’s super cute and fun while still being functional which is very important. It captures the essence of the Drybar brand perfectly. The packaging on the Drybar It Cosmetics mascara is truly some of the prettiest I’ve seen in a while. Rarely do you find a mascara that claims to do both lengthening and volumizing so really this just helps you know what you are getting in to. The goal of this mascara is volume, which I think is very important to note when considering this mascara. Overall, I had very high expectations going in because of my familiarity with It Cosmetics and my love for DryBar. This is not my first time using an It Cosmetics Mascara, I’ve tried the Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara before and really liked it.
